It’s about time I posted something up here. I’m very lucky to be part of gaffbhala and the lads have been very nice to me and bought me some new clothes. Although I’ve been here since the beginning, I do welcome the arrival of Milky Joe and Old Gregg. Peace out brothers!

Today we bought a football in Lifestyle Sports in Dun Laoghaire and went to the park around the corner to play red ass. We played for ages and finally, Ali conceded enough goals for us to try and red his ass. Here’s a short clip of Wig attempting to do so. He only gets his ankles but it’s still kinda funny! Enjoy…

On friday Wig bought Mario Mart Wii! Its so much fun! Its the latest game we’ve been playing in the house and its been on the telly non stop since wig got it! You basically control the kart by moving you hands like you would with any steering wheel! kinda like the way girls play car games, but this time moving the contoller around the place actually is useful!

I am pleased to introduce the latest member of the gaffbhala household. Old Gregg arrived on Friday evening and has already asserted his presence and become an indisensable member of the family. We spent Saturday afternoon building his cage and his favourite pastimes are rolling around the computer room in his ball, moving food from one place to a second place and hanging upside down in a tube. Below are a couple of pics and I plan to upload a few more when we get them. I know you’ll all join me in welcoming Old Gregg into the house. If anyone fancies coming around to say hello, please feel free!

If you know me then I guess you know I love to make music. Its pretty hard not to notice the amount if instruments and gear around gaffbhala. I like to keep my own stuff nice and simple, melodic and fun. Some tunes took a few hours and some a few days. Here’s some tunes I made when I was unemplyed for that magical month and a half :p

Just to inform you all that shortly Milky Joe will no longer be the newest member to gaffbhala. The latest member, Old Gregg, should be with us by the weekend. I can provide you with no more information at this point as to the nature or identity of our newest housemate, however anybody wishing to make Old Gregg’s acquaintance are welcome to drop by at the weekend.

We never got a letter, but we DID have someone call around in the early hours when the party was in full swing, although none of us can remember who answered the door, who it was or what they said, so they may as well not have come round at all!

Hey all, just thought id share this letter we received the other day with you… Looks like there will be no more parties in Gaffbhala..

To the residents of no. __ Glenageary Park,

I am writing on behalf of your immediate neighbours of Glenageary Park road to formally complain about the behaviour witnessed over the last few months in and around your place of residence.

I have received numerous complaints from residents of Glenageary Park of late night parties with music of excessive, and frankly unacceptable levels, crowds of people coming and going from the premises at all hours of the night, and general rowdy behaviour which shows a severe lack of respect or consideration for the other residents of the street. One incident in particular was on the night of Good Friday, the 21st March, on which a resident of Glenageary Park who shall remain unnamed, was forced to call over to the house to request that the music be turned down, to be greeted by a horde of drunken party goers.

The road you live on is in a quiet neighbourhood comprising mainly of middle-age to elderly residents, who have never had to put up with such loutish behaviour in the past. Upon speaking with these people personally, it is clear to me that you made no effort to introduce yourselves to the neighbourhood, or to show an ounce of respect for the people who were here before you.

I strongly advise that the next time you plan to throw a party of any size, that you make it know to your neighbours, and accept with good grace should they inform you that they may not be happy with the idea.

Failure to respect the wishes of your neighbours in future the will result in the involvement of the Gardai.

We recorded another sonic cover the other night, emerald hill zone, which turned out better than we expected. All thats left to do is a bit of editing and footage! Watch this space!

I’ve been using this broccoli recipe recently. It’s easy and it’s fast and it’s bloody delicious.

First, cut/break most of the stalk off the broccoli, wash and set aside. Next heat a bit of oil in a frying pan, get it nice and hot. Add a few pinches of fennel seeds and some ginger into the pan and fry for about a minute. I use ginger paste because it’s easier but normal, grated ginger is good too. Next throw in the broccoli and stir it around so it’s nicely coated with oil, fennel seeds and ginger. After another minute, pour some soy sauce over the broccoli. An optional dash of dark soy sauce will make it even nicer. Stir the broccoli around the pan while frying for a few more minutes but be careful not to over do it as the broccoli can get soggy. You want it nice and al dente. Bob’s your uncle! I often throw a few sugarsnap peas in with the broccoli for a bit of variation.
